The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is searching for a Programs Analysis Coordinator. This is an excellent entry level opportunity for someone who is considering a career in Data Analysis.

Do you like working with numbers and data, spotting patterns and trends? Are you a solution focused, imaginative, critical thinker who enjoys solving problems? You will learn how data is applied and evaluated to effectively support management and stakeholders in making informed business decisions while you develop critical technical skills. You will be part of a talented, dynamic team and work closely with the Program Analysis & Operations Manager to assist with analysis, evaluation, and presentation of data and trends to stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with analysis and evaluation (on a quantitative or qualitative basis) to determine effectiveness of programs and activities in meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Assists in the development project scopes, timelines, lists of deliverables, benchmarks, and project imperatives across departments and programs.
  • Assists in the execution of the financial and management analysis process (an internal performance measurement process)
  • Assists in the development of logic models, data management plans, and other program planning and evaluation instruments as needed
  • Assists in the development of data collection instrument such as surveys
  • Assists in strategy and execution of the organization-wide BI Initiative and serves as a resource for staff throughout the year on data analysis and visualization.
  • Assists in evaluation capacity building efforts for the organization.
  • Drafts memos, reports, and/or presentations for varying audiences on evaluation/analysis findings.
  • Assists in maintaining the Society's operating policies, creating new policies and updating existing policies as needed in coordination with the appropriate staff.
  • Assist in maintaining the Society's Business Continuity Plan, including working with staff across all departments to provide regular updates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Degrees in Statistics, Mathematics or Economics preferred.
  • 1-2 years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data analysis software and predictive analytics tools preferred.
  • Strong ability to acquire knowledge of the association's vision, mission, strategic plan, goals,
  • business operations, and financial management.
  • Prior work experience in internal evaluation, data analysis, strategic planning for a non-profit organization is preferred.
  • Must have an interest in the development and implementation of M&E systems, processes, methodologies, and tools (e.g., surveys, interview and observation protocols, logic models, etc.).
  • Strong research, data collection and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Must be extraordinarily detailed-oriented while able to meet big picture goals and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to organize and set priorities, work independently and take initiative to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team environment is essential.
