Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is looking for a Junior Business Analysis Coordinator to join the Information Strategy & Business Analysis (ISBA) department. ISBA focuses on project management business intelligence, process improvement, and knowledge sharing. This role will be reporting to a Project Manager.

In this role, you will be provided opportunities to grow professionally, build on your technical skill set, and work on many exciting projects. You will be able to make an impact in projects that lead SfN to work smarter and achieve efficiencies by leveraging various technology.

Acting as a liaison between business units and IT, you will also facilitate process modeling and research efforts, identify and correct process issues in new and existing applications, and works across departments to support SfN's analysis and technology implementation efforts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Process Improvement

Assist internal stakeholders in projects related to technology, business processes, and data integrity. Gain understanding of key functions and processes throughout the organization to provide business analysis that identifies policy, process, or product enhancement opportunities. Preferred familiarity with a major system implementation, testing, and user adoption.

Knowledge Management in SharePoint

Assist end users with creating project pages, sites, forms, and workflows using out-of-the-box options in SharePoint. Increase user adoption, provide training, and help troubleshoot issues.


Engage with stakeholders in a collaborative style. Proactively manage stakeholder expectations and address uncertainties through effective communication. Prepare actionable and decision ready business cases, functional requirements, and formal updates to various audiences.

New Opportunities and Business Case discovery

Conduct preliminary investigations for project requests and stay up-to-date on in-house tools and new technologies. Consult with business and IT stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into relevant documentation. Coordinate the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, develop and validate requirements, identify potential vendors, and facilitate contract review process and selection.

Teamwork & Problem Solving

  • Work within the team and among teams to ensure that decisions are made to further the organization's goals.
  • Respond positively to unexpected demands and changing priorities.  



  • Bachelor's degree required, Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience required, nonprofit experience a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with creation of pages, sites, forms, and workflows using out-of-the-box options in SharePoint.
  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with increasing user adoption, providing training, and support with organization-wide SharePoint training strategy.
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency, organization, and discipline to handle multiple projects across. different teams and content areas with attention to planning, implementation, and client hand-off.
  • Broad knowledge of process improvement methodologies and requirements gathering.
  • Proficiency with business software tools, including MS Office application suite, with strong focus on SharePoint. Experience with Association Management Systems (AMS), CRM, data analysis, and reporting systems preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills to produce clear and compelling reports with analysis and recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to work effectively with colleagues and outside vendors.
