SfN's Technology Services Department is currently seeking a motivated Development Project Specialist with a collaborative approach towards planning and managing projects focused on business application solutions, while also maintaining systems that have already been implemented to include the functionality of the organization's websites, the web-enabled portion of the association management system, and SfN's intranet.  This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional that wants to learn more about working within very diverse systems while building relationships with different vendors.  Read on to learn more!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Creates and executes project work plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Works with other SfN project managers to manage stakeholder, management, and vendor expectations through effective communication and reporting.
  • Manages all aspects of systems analysis, design, development, deployment, maintenance, enhancements, and training for all mission-critical applications, including portions of the association management system.
  • Work closely with the web developer maintain the functionality of all SfN websites including the content management system.
  • Anticipates and identifies issues that may prevent systems from meeting customer requirements and expectations, and then implement any corrective or preventative actions.
  • Manages the functionality, support, and maintenance of SharePoint as the organization's intranet and extranet.
  • Establishes, support and maintains professional working relationships with consultants and vendors/suppliers.
  • Works with the Data Systems Specialist to ensure the integrity, accuracy, reliability, and security of SfN corporate data and databases.
  • Contributes as needed on infrastructure issues and participates in cross-training to provide backup support for the infrastructure and Web development teams.
  • Stays current on knowledge of best practices and technology solutions of interest to SfN as well as remain highly technically competent in all levels of implemented technologies.
  • Develop, code, install, test, debug, and document Web applications using appropriate editors.
  • Facilitate code review and quality assurance efforts.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or other technology-based field or 3 additional years of equivalent programming experience in lieu of education
  • MS SQL, .Net and MVC framework.
  • Demonstrated experience with content management system preferably Sitecore.
  • 3 years of experience with application development and systems implementation, including development of requirements, design, and programming of solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience in an association or professional society
  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong technical proficiency with recent hands-on experience with an association management system, a content management system, SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server and .NET.
  • General knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Windows server and operating systems.
  • Ability to deliver multiple IT Projects on time and within budget through competent use of project management standards and processes.
