The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is the world's largest organization of scientists and physicians devoted to understanding the brain and nervous system. The nonprofit organization, founded in 1969, now has nearly 42,000 members in more than 90 countries and 130 chapters worldwide.

BrainFacts.org is an authoritative source of information about the brain and nervous system for the public.  Our award-winning, growing online platform is in need of a Web Editor to work with the Public Information and Outreach team to develop, present and promote accurate and accessible scientific content to the public.  The Web Editor will use their innovative experience to apply best practices in content development, information architecture and design in support of the site's continued expansion.  In addition, this role facilitates and executes social media strategies to engage our audiences. 

We are seeking a candidate with a bachelor's degree in communications, web design, science, science writing, journalism, or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience required.  Ideal for someone who has a passion for science and who is eager to bring their time and project management skills to the table.  A strong ability to communicate, attention to detail and experience executing multi-faced communications campaigns, editing and writing, and working knowledge of social media technology, HTML, web content management, and web analytics (such as Google Analytics) are needed for success.  The ability to work effectively and creatively in a team environment while remaining responsible, flexible and accountable is required.
