The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is searching for a Virtual Learning Associate who will work with various departments to plan, coordinate, and grow online events, such as webcasts, virtual, and hybrid conferences. The Associate is responsible for ensuring logistical and administrative tasks related to virtual events are being addressed and completed on time. The Associate liaises with programmatic departments to ensure successful planning, execution, and reporting of events. The Associate will also help identify opportunities to continue expanding virtual learning at SfN.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate event logistics with cross-departmental teams, including scheduling, planning, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage event calendar, shared drive folders, and communication plans.
  • Collect, review, and update event materials to ensure branding, including PowerPoint presentations, speaker bios, and virtual environments.
  • Act as main contact with webcast vendor, ensuring coordination with programmatic teams, identifying contract needs, and ensuring virtual and hybrid events are conducted in a smooth manner.
  • Maintain and create reports.
  • Provide content and technical support to each virtual event and rehearsal, in coordination with webcast/virtual event vendor.
  • Draft and edit communications as needed, including emails and social media posts.
  • Update content management system with relevant virtual event information.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1 -2 years of coordination experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of instructional practices, blended learning solutions, and measurement standards.
  • Experience in learning management systems, webinar or virtual meeting systems, or strong desire to learn.
  • Interest in instructional design and technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build bridges amongst departments.
  • Ability to use good judgement and to be diplomatic with sensitive situations.
