The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is searching for a Professional Development Coordinator. The Coordinator will be responsible for contributing to the successful execution of multiple professional development programs that serve the career development needs of diverse segments of the Society's membership. Professional development programs include live workshops and events at the SfN annual meeting and web-based projects developed throughout the year. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who would like to build their career in a nonprofit and be a part of a fast paced and dynamic team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support development of SfN's online professional development initiatives, including annual meeting content capture and post-production, webinars, live chats, toolkits, articles, and virtual conferences.
  • Serve as primary point of contact and logistical lead for professional development events at the SfN annual meeting, including the professional development workshop series, the Meet the Experts program, the Career Development Topics: A Networking Event, and the Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheon.
  • Staff the Professional Development Committee and relevant subcommittees and working groups by managing logistics for meetings (in-person and conference calls), preparing meeting materials in areas of responsibility, taking meeting minutes, etc.
  • Manage day-to-day operations and customer relations for the NeuroJobs Career Center.
  • Lead the development and implementation of communication plans for SfN's live and web-based professional development programming alongside the Marketing and Member Communications teams.
  • Process and track procurements and reimbursements related to projects/activities in assigned areas of responsibility and maintains related databases and tracking systems.
  • Conduct relevant research to support planning and implementation of new and ongoing department initiatives.
  • Provide overall administrative support to the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
